Community inspires me. In my eyes, communities evolve like organisms, developing over time physically and emotionally. I voluntarily immerse myself in this world by participating in multiple artistic groups and volunteering for various organizations. This mindset influences my art, which thrives through collaboration and complex themes. The lonely artist is alone no more.

Themes are contingent on my reaction to events, a problem that needs solving or just a reason to be humorous, but almost always results in brainstorming, planning and experimenting with new materials. The result is political, economic and environmental ideas represented through puppetry, costumes, performance and abstract installations.

My collaboration projects are not limited to visual artists. Writers, actors and circus performers offer another perspective on community involvement and at times will influence me to concentrate on more tradition art forms such as figure drawing or photography. Art is a limitless form in which to express communal ideas.
